Here is a sneak peek into what it's like to work with me..

"My name is Caoibhe, I’m 24 years old, from Ireland.

 

When I reached out to Ioana, I was really struggling. I couldn’t even sit up in my bed or walk to the bathroom in my apartment without my heart racing and eventually fainting. I was lucky to get a diagnosis of POTS quite quickly but the support available from the healthcare system where I live was limited. I turned to looking online for answers but was overwhelmed with horror stories and struggled to find much helpful advice. I found Ioana’s videos online and they resonated with me, so I ended up enrolling in the programme. 

 

I learned a lot during the programme, about my body and my nervous system and I slowly started integrating back into normal life. I was able to go shopping, meet up with friends, I started travelling again and bit by bit, I started to feel more confident in myself again. Now, I’ve been able to go back to university and I just finished my first semester of my nursing degree. I’m back to living my busy life again, just this time I have tools to keep myself stabilised and supported and I’m really grateful to Ioana for that. 

 

When I got sick, I definitely isolated myself from friends because I didn’t want anybody to see me sick. It was scary and I didn’t feel like myself and so I kept myself hidden away. Thankfully my boyfriend  was very supportive but of course it was tough on him too. I’ve learned now that I don’t always have to be the best version of myself and my friends understand. As I’ve recovered, I noticed that I’m so grateful to be able to go out and spend time with my friends that I don’t actually care what anyone thinks of me anymore and that’s an amazing feeling. I’ve learned to trust in people, in friends and strangers because I’ve had so much support and amazing encounters. As crazy as it sounds, I’m actually grateful for being sick to have been able to learn this.

 

If you’re not sure whether to enrol or not, I would say to just do it. POTS is scary, it’s isolating and confusing. The programme gives structure to getting better and provides you with tools that we should probably have in our kit, POTS or not. The weekly group calls are so helpful, they’re positive and supportive and as much as it can feel like an effort to attend, they do help. 

 

My advice to anyone struggling with POTS is to be kind and patient with yourself. Even a healthy person would struggle to change their entire lifestyle and diet overnight, so don’t ask that of yourself. Take it step by step, even if you feel pressured to get better, you will, but it takes time. I would also say to minimise searching online for answers. As my physiotherapist said, the people who have successfully recovered from POTS are not the ones posting on Reddit. There’s a lot of scaremongering and negativity out there, so try and avoid it as much as you can. Finally, I like Ioana’s advice of treating yourself like a science experiment. Try new things, push outside your comfort zone a little. If you crash, that’s okay, you can learn from that and adapt. You will have ups and downs, healing is not linear, but as time goes on, those crashes will get smaller and smaller and you’ll begin to feel like yourself again."​

"Before the program, I struggled with 26,000 skipped heart beats and runs of atrial tachycardia. Now I only have only over a 1,000 skipped beats and less runs of atrial tachycardia. Its  been a real turning point for me because now I can see hope in the future. I can actually go out of the house now. Before I could not walk anywhere at all. Now, I have built up 1,500 steps. I can now eat more foods. Whereas before I was could only tolerate four to five foods. I can now actually move around the house as well. Literally, before I was stuck on the couch being unable to do very much at all."​

"I had gotten COVID in December and then started to have tremors in my left hand. So I went to neurologists and was passed around. I started to have really bad muscle pains and back pain. I was having a really bad fatigue to where if I went to a grocery store, I would need to sleep for 24 hours afterwards. I would get out of breath doing the most basic things like taking out the trash.. Even after being diagnosed with POTS, I could not get into a doctor's appointment for several months. So I was feeling very desperate for help, and I just felt really lost...I couldn't find any answers. I was in a pretty dark place mentally but also physically.

 

However, already 2 to 3 weeks into the program, I started to be able to do more and even more so as time went on. It's so interesting to think back to that day when I was able to go to the grocery store all by myself without crashing afterwards. I was so excited! I was also able to help my husband around the house, and I was able to keep working the whole time during the program. I've come a long way.

 

There were things that I learned in the program that not only helped my POTS but also helped my diabetes and arthritis.

I thought my life would be me having to sleep through most it, but now I don't even need to take naps during the week! All of my symptoms decreased by half, and that is huge for me.

"I got COVID on December 22, and after that, I never really got well. I had bad flu-like symptoms, but I was not in the hospital, and I just continued feeling very very tired. I  was also feeling very anxious and dizzy. I wanted to lay down a lot, and I had bad insomnia...really really bad. On some days, I was not able to sleep at all. I was very confused, and after a few weeks I found out that it might be POTS. A doctor confirmed this diagnosis very quickly, which was scary, but at least I knew what it was. So that was the beginning of my journey with POTS and Long-Covid. 

 

After I started Googling, I was confused because the internet was saying that there was no cure even though the doctor said this was going to go away on its own. 

 

After about a month of starting your program, the headaches really stopped, my sleep was more consistent, and I felt more and more energetic. 

 

I really call it a success for myself because I caught the infection 10 months ago, and today I can work for six hours a day. I'm at the gym for about 45 minutes/four times a week. I have almost no headaches. My sleep is better. I do still take breaks, and I do still feel tired, but there are a lot of things that I can do. I went to a party two weeks ago, and I was playing on the piano for 4 hours! And for me, this is just great! I'm traveling again, and I can see my friends. So a lot of things are possible again."

"I have managed my diet better, learnt more about what my triggers are and worked hard to make myself feel better while making eating fun again and not worrying. I've planted seeds in pacing and exercise that could help me too. 

 

I've worked hard over the last few years to get to where I am now so I know it's possible. 

 

I now believe that the only person in control of your strength is yourself. A lot of this work is in the mind, and overcoming obstacles in your mind can have a huge impact. I believe that I will continue to be healthier. 

 

I have noticed that my dips in health are becoming further apart from one another, each time I've built up a bit more so recovery is slightly quicker each time. 

 

The best part of the program for me has been speaking to other people who have similar struggles. It's good to understand health from different perspectives and speak to people who understand the daily gripes. I've also gained confidence in my own knowledge around my health, when healthcare advice is few and far between."

"My name is Rivki Weiss I currently live in NJ I’m a single mom of 2. About a year ago I discovered that I have Pots and that I’ve been living with it since I can remember and I just learned to push through it..

Then About a half year ago I suddenly started crashing more n more frequently until I was fully bed bound and couldn’t function anymore on my own. I needed assistance 24/7. A little bit after that I was diagnosed with Cfs.

 

But other then getting the diagnoses the doctors weren’t helpful much, neither my family and I felt like I’m gonna be weak, and helpless forever.

All I kept hearing from the ppl around me was that I need to push harder.. I felt like the Laziest person around.

Being desperate for help I googled and found her YouTube channel, I was impressed, excited and all emotional, seeing how much I relate. Seeing that it’s not my fault or my laziness. I felt like finally someone gets me. The confusion and loneliness i felt was horrible.

Now a few months later I’m glad to say that I made the right decision, I definitely got the support and validation I so much needed and so much valuable information.

Ioana is super intuitive and knowledgeable yet also goal oriented. she kept track of where I was holding week after week as if holding my hand. and I finally felt like I’m heading in the right direction with guidance I can trust .

Right now I’m no more stuck in my bed, I can get around the house alone, and get my basic needs met. I’m hopeful that I will get better n better with time and recover fully.

I applaud anyone that is struggling in a similar situation like I did, it takes so much strength and faith to keep going especially in the beginning, and there is a way out, but having the right support is crucial.

I highly recommend working with Ioana, she will be like ur best friend, guide and teacher.
